At camp, students receive more than 20 hours of direct instruction and participate in several practice rounds. Camp teachers include NHSDLC league directors and university debaters from our partner U.S. debate societies. Students who attend camp see a dramatic improvement in their debate, public speaking, critical thinking, and research abilities.
Beijing, February 6-7
The NHSDLC Domestic Invitational is one of the largest high school debate tournament in China, which is held every winter in Beijing. Comprising of two divisions - middle school and high school division - the NHSDLC Domestic Invitational is the most competitive debate tournament in winter, and the highlight of the NHSDLC fall season.
Stanford Invitational, February 7-12
Harvard Invitational, February 14-19
Every February, the NHSDLC accompanies top-performing Chinese debate teams to the Stanford and Harvard high school tournaments. Students who join us will receive rigorous coaching from the NHSDLC league directors at the tournament. In 2017, NHSDLC students won the international divisions of both tournaments, and repeated at Stanford in 2018.
