Congratulations to all teams for competing in, and completing this tournament in a second language on the topic of whether major economies should prioritize domestic energy independence over participation in global energy markets. This issue is highly relevant to today’s complex geopolitical and economic landscape—especially in an era of shifting trade dynamics—and will undoubtedly shape the future of global security, economic resilience, and international relations worldwide. Gaining a deeper understanding of the trade-offs between national energy sovereignty and global market integration better prepares students to think critically about resource security, economic stability, foreign policy, and long-term sustainable development. Regardless of how many debates you won, you should be proud of the progress you’ve made in communication, critical thinking, and research skills through your participation. We hope you found the tournament both challenging and educational!
